Azerbaijan antique mafrash cushion (76 x 68cm)

The weft brocaded is done in all wool and the piece is what remains of what once must have been a large mafrash or khorjian utility bag or panier. The attractive original lining bears witness to its qualities. Now having been bound around three edges to form what is now a large cushion sleeve with one end unfastened.
